Organized by Frederick Belton
We will be departing Arusha for Ol Doinyo Lengai on June 11, 2008 for an attempt to climb and gather samples of ash and bombs. At this time the large eruptions of ash have ceased and there is only light degassing from the ash cone. We are currently not offering organized expeditions to Ol Doinyo Lengai.

The entire summit and flank area of Ol Doinyo Lengai is still extremely hazardous since explosive activity could resume at any time. Large bombs and blocks have recently fallen into the south crater.
